Although the 2017 AUS-X Open took place more than a month ago, the promoters of the Australian Supercross event have done an exceptional job at giving fans video footage from the weekend in Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena. Monster Energy, the title sponsor to the race, has released a recap edit that shows a small glimpse at the party atmosphere and on-track excitement, which can be viewed for free above.
Race promoters AME, meanwhile, have a prepared a long-form documentary video series titled When The Gate Drops that’s available for purchase through Vimeo On Demand. With access to riders Jason Anderson, Dean Wilson, RJ Hampshire, Justin Brayton, Dan Reardon, Chad Reed, Ricky Carmichael, Blake “Bilko” Williams, Robbie Maddison, and Ronnie Mac, the four-part series reveals an often unseen side to the sport’s competitiveness at the highest level. The trailer for the series is posted below and you can purchase the full set of videos for a small fee.
This isn’t the first long video that AME has produced for the AUS-X Open, as they documented Chad Reed’s return to Australia in 2016 that’s free and well worth a watch.
