Akira Narita is quite possibly the greatest rider that Japan has ever produced. An eight-time All Japan National MX Champion, Narita has spent some time in the United States and should be a familiar face to die-hard fans. In the early 2000s, Narita finished second in a 125 National moto at Mount Morris, and also earned a podium finish at the Anaheim Supercross in the Lites division. Now, at 30, he is still trying to hone his skills by racing the first five rounds of the Monster Energy Supercross Series. Thus far, Narita has not qualified for the night show, but he is gaining valuable experience and speed. The factory Honda HRC rider will then return to Japan in pursuit of his ninth championship this summer.
