The Annual MTA Two-Stroke World Championship is an event that the entire motocross community looks forward to, as it’s reminiscent to the late 90s and early 2000s thanks to the “two-strokes only” rule – not to mention the high-paying pro purse. In the days leading up to the race, TWMX test pilot Ryan Surratt found himself with no 125 and a 250 that had an untold amount of hours on it, ultimately being rendered as uncompetitive. Surratt took to social media to see if anyone had a bike that he could borrow just for the race, and that’s when TWMX’s Donn Maeda stepped in. After making a phone call, our 2016 Yamaha YZ125 and YZ250 test bikes were on their way to Bill’s Pipes in Corona, CA to begin their transformation process into full blown race bikes.
