Magnetic Visor Release System


Eight months ago we noticed something different about the Fox Racing helmets worn by Ken Roczen, Chad Reed, and Ryan Dungey at the early rounds of the 2017 Monster Energy Supercross Series. The visors were completely void of screws, the usual attachment method, and instead were held in place by a series of strong magnets which would allow the visor to come off in a crash. This concept keeps rotational forces to a minimum and works alongside the MIPS liner and EPS foam inside the carbon fiber shell. To our surprise, Fox has made the MVRS (Magnetic Visor Release System) a standard feature on their 2018 collection of V3 lids. Here’s a quick video from Fox about the design…
