Troy Lee Designs/KTM veteran Shane McElrath earned a popular with at the 2018 Red Bull Straight Rhythm at the Pomona Fairplex tonight, topping motocross legend Ryan Dungey in two of the three final championship runs. For McElrath, it was his third-straight win at the event, as he has emerged with the 250 Four-Stroke title at the two previous runnings of the unique race, which pits riders against each other in a head-to-head drag race down a half-mile Supercross-style course. Because this year’s event was changed to two-strokes only, McElrath moved to the premier division and learned to ride his KTM 250 SX a few days before the event. We caught up with Shane just before the racing got underway to chat about his new number, two-strokes, and rad riding gear.
