When we saw so many dirty bikes in the pit area of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship lately, we thought the teams in the pit area had taken their conservation efforts with them to the track when it came to bike washing. But the limited power washer use is actually a way to keep the motorcycle from becoming water-logged. With so many sensitive electronics and greased components placed on the modern machine, teams would rather have slightly dirty bike through practice than run the risk of a moisture induced mechanical failure.
